People often ask “What is the average cost of Hypnotherapy?” and that’s not an easy question to answer.

What is the average cost of Hypnotherapy? The cost of Hypnotherapy varies across the country. In London and the ‘down south’ areas most things cost more. The rent of offices, the cost of food etc that the therapist has to lay out to perform their work will be higher and this cost to the therapist is obviously a factor in what they charge.

What is the average cost of Hypnotherapy

Many therapists work from home either in a ‘home office’ or a converted space such as a garage. The ongoing costs to this type of therapist will not be the same as an office in a building with a receptionist and on-site parking. Other therapists may work mainly via Zoom, and perhaps use a corner of their living room or something similar with no need for any separate space set aside.

There are of course lots of other costs that a therapist incurs to practice. Training costs, including CPD (Continuing Professional Development) insurance and quality assurance, professional supervision, websites and IT.

So what is a better questions to ask? I would suggest that thinking about what your looking for from a therapist is a good starting place. Do you want to be seen in an private comfortable office with a reception area, fire escapes and other modern facilities. Or would you perhaps be comfortable in a office.

What are you looking for in the individual therapist, that’s another good question. Do you want to be able to validate a Therapists credentials with a professional body such as the National Council for Hypnotherapy. Some therapists study only for a relatively short time, and then don’t continue to develop, focusing on a specific issue. Others like myself are Graduates, who spent years training at reputable institutions and continue to read up on the latest research to keep our knowledge current, and undertake regular updating training. How long do you feel that a Therapist should have been in practice for you to feel confident in them.

When you have decided on the kind of therapist and the location I suggest doing some research. Look for evidence of a Therapist with a good track record and reputation as shown through reviews on Facebook or Google. When you know what your looking for, that puts you in a better place to ask about price. Basically this is what I’m looking for, what does that cost? Is a much better starting point.
